I keep my eyes always on the Lord: with Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 16:8

How our spirit rises, to see early signs of spring bursting through the clouds and nature. It can embrace us with a newness of hope and wonder. Yesterday, as I was gently pulling away the damp and greyed Hosta leaves, it brought to mind, the Samaritan woman at the well. As the mushy leaves drooped in my hands, I wondered and prayed, on lost souls and withered words, in the world. That perhaps, at that moment in time, are dampened or crushed, in spirit or hope. Spring seems to give one hope. Perhaps in new beginnings. Perhaps in new love and forgiveness. Like the Samaritan woman, it invites us, to experience, God’s living water. Perhaps a part of her, lives in us as well. Jesus speaks to us through scripture, nature, people, events and all things.

In children and adults, wholeness of experiences, can be powerful and enriching. Meditation in nature, people, and things around us, can be a nurturing place of wonder, for the senses. When we take time to focus our attention on the present, through the eyes of Jesus, a new light shines on us. If you are overwhelmed with the brightness and busyness, you can refocus your sight to God’s gentle light and stillness. If the noise feels like a storm, we can breathe, pause and listen, and ask God for the still, small voice of calm. The Lord spoke through the earthquake, wind and fire in a gentle whisper. Kings 19:11-13. If we need to feel grounded, and feel too much or too little, we can allow God to help steady us. If sensations of smell or taste, seem to trigger stress, we can ask Jesus to help us savour His goodness at that moment. With the wholeness of being we can breathe, surrender and center, and inhale the peace of Jesus and exhale anxiety or worry. We ask God to be our refuge. “God is my refuge and strength.” Psalm 46:1 God’s goodness is all around us. Jesus in our life, can be like a sun bursting through the storm, that leads us into a path in the light of God.

Embrace how you were created, “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). If the world is too loud, “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10. God comforts. God heals. God is present. God is in the scriptures. “Peace I leave with you.” John 14:27.

Peace and prayers,
