Mark 4: 20 “Those that were sown upon the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.”
A mother and father hold and kiss their baby for the first time. Magnanimous love. A couple exchange vows in the Sacrament of Marriage with their first, “I do”. True love. A son and daughter hold their mother or father’s hand one final time. Everlasting love. A father who sacrificed his son to save the world from sins and give hope for all. Eternal love. How many voices does love have in our life? A billion, a trillion in a lifetime. More. Less. Love is the basic core need of all people. It encompasses our entire being. Nothing this world could ever render can compare to ones need for love. Only love nourishes the soul.
Facebook, has become quite a venue for love. A place I would have never thought to join, had I not been guided by God’s love. As I scan it from time to time, a phrase always comes to mind, looking for love. We share our lives with friends but what is the deep profound purpose that drives us to it? Studies say people of our time are starving for love. We live in an age of incredible technology and connection yet our generation thirsts the most of all throughout history. Is it our wanting to belong, be accepted or be loved? When a picture or thought is posted, do we consider how or by whom it will be received? Do we consider what message this will bring to a lonely soul, to a pained soul, to a soul in need? Only God fills us abundantly with eternal love. Only God can fulfill our purpose when all we do is rooted in love.
Faith, grandparents, parents and life humbled me. Life and love has been given to us freely, so that we may share and inspire others. My Facebook journey and this website only began to build hope in others. It was God’s plan for me, not to brag about the goodness of my life but share the gift that God has given for all. A voice of love, peace and hope. A voice that at times was dim in my own life but guided me to place Scripture and God in the center. It was through pain, suffering and loss in my own life, that I came to realize early on in life, that love surpasses all things. As a young girl God called me but still I stumble. We must ask ourselves what connection will my actions and words bring for those who lack family, friends and faith? Those who are suffering and lonely? How can we build a world of love and peace when our only thoughts are to benefit ourselves. Life will always lack incredible glory if we forget to offer everything to God and others. We were created for more than mediocrity.
It has been a long awaited dream of mine to travel to Italy and Greece on a pilgrimage and spend time our families relatives. A dream to share God’s love and culture with my daughters. In European countries their people have a great sense of community, faith and love. Respect. Beauty. In my childhood we had a great sense of faith and community. In living our culture. Cliques baffle me. Acceptance. May our eyes always be set on the kingdom of God’s love.
May we always be on a journey to fill our own cup and that of others, with the immensity of God’s love. Should the receiver begrudge or persecute, it is irrelevant. We have done our job for which we were created. We must always give love. We are not the hand that forces it to others, only God can accomplish that feat. Matthew 5:44 “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you”. We are a voice. Let us be on a journey of strength, honour and love. Be a voice of love. One of the greatest Commandments, love as I have loved you. May you never waste a moment or second to tell your spouse, child and others around you, I love you. Give and you will receive. Give more than you take. Serve more than be served. Be a voice of love for others.
Our Nourished Soul,
Claudia
