Mark 4:21-25 “Is a lamp brought in to be put under a bushel, or under a bed, and not on a stand? For there is nothing hidden, except to come to light. If any man has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Do we tell ourselves we are not worthy? Do we feel we neither have the skills or abilities to accomplish our dreams set out for us? God reminds us we are. God tells us we do. We let our past and present emotional layers play roles in our present life and we are robbed. Like thieves we place our beauty in a bag hidden from the world, suppressing our life’s desires planted within us. We place value of ourselves on humans that are flawed or may be incapable of setting barometers, let alone for others. Although, it is not out of their incapability of raising another person’s spirits, but out of their own thirst. God calls us to face him. He will guide. We all thirst. However, we convince ourselves, we need something tangible. I was under this false pretense. This falsehood in that I allowed life and worldly opinion to seat comfortably in my heart for many years. Unsettled. Although, I spent a lifetime trying to understand God, I came to honor and follow. Surrender. Incredible things began to happen in my life, I shared my life more deeply with family, community and faith leaders. My gifts once hidden, revealed. Love reigned in my soul. The transformation. It all began with the simple phrase, “Lord, transform me”.
Until we are ready to truly love ourselves and those around us and know we are deeply loved and follow Him, our light will never fully shine. Mercy. Our mercy for others frees us from the prison we may place ourselves. Our true perfection lies in His purpose for our lives. Raise, build, encourage, shelter, give, love and humble thyself, but let us not enable feebleness. God will work and unfold in each of our lives, in His way. “His will be done”. So let us rise women and men. Rise from the seat of falsehood we have placed ourselves in, to the reality of true inner strength and honor. We are not captives, yet we remain hidden. Let us not cling to the past or to what others may perceive us. For whom has taken the time to know or understand our immense capacity for love? God. Our beauty must shine for all to see. Not all will love us. Bless them still. We must be vigilant in love and hope. For whom does it benefit if our gifts are not shared out of fear? Search for perfect love and heal thy soul. Take the journey. It unfolds. Believe and prosper. The wisdom of life and purpose can only be obtained through love and mercy. Begin with prayer for His guidance.
Matthew 5:15 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel. Let your light shine before men…”
