“And now these three remain, faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Corinthians 13:13
My family has been blessed to have, such a lovingly large circle, of family and friends. We’re invited to and attend many, baptisms, weddings and celebrations. Each unique with an invitation to, dance, laugh, share food and community. Hopefully, with joy. God is always sending us a golden invitation to turn our hearts back to him. To be in union with Him. How does this happen? Seeking a relationship with Him. Prayer, fasting and charity, nurtures the relationship.
When I was about ten years of age, my Nona and Nono, travelled back to Italy, their place of birth. They brought me back a meaningful, faith, hope and charity, pendant. It was surreal moment. As if I had received a precious treasure. I sensed the sowing in the cost of gold. Beyond that, I strongly sensed, I had been gifted a direct link to God. A golden invitation. I not only wore and treasured it, but I meditated on its meaning. It held this incredible power. The secret of life and love. It was like the ring of power, in the ‘Lord of the Rings’, moment. Years later, while facilitating RCIA, the song, faith, hope and love was sung, and my thoughts, were transported to that moment, as young girl, setting out to make sense of the world and people. It continues to sing, throughout generations. It sings with joy, the “greatest of all these is love”. Those memories, of faith, love, community, dedication and devotion, were all part of a deep transforming love. A gift from God. His invites us all to a sea of unending love.
“Prayer is the best weapon we have. It is the key to God’s heart.” Saint Padre Pio.
“We rarely think of the air we breathe, yet it is in us and all around us all the time. In a similar fashion the presence of God penetrates, is all around us, is always embracing us.” Thomas Keating.
